a sl-tx30 index shifter and sis derailuer... both shimano. don't want to go spending money for something that wouldn't work from the get go

Hi CJ. SIS stands for Shimano Index System so, yes, your SIS drlr will work as intended with the Top Mount TX30 shifters.
