Is an Altus rear derailleur compatible with an 8 speed Acera or Alivio cassette? And, also, which chains would suit this set up?
Thanks

If a cassette is very worn the chain is certainly stretched too much (will damage a new cassette).
Thanks

I am partial to KMC chains. Any 8 or 7 speed chain will work, but the x8.93 is easiest for me to find on sale, & comes with a quick disconnect link.
