Changing between clipless pedals and regular
#1
Ok, maybe this is a weird questions but I am trying to see if I can get away with having to use my bike shoes when I take my daughter for bike rides to the park (without having to buy a second bike).... is there an easy way to switch between the two or maybe a pedal that you can fit over the clipless pedal?

I have a Felt 32 Tri bike....

Thanks

They do make pedals that work both ways

here is an example

Shimano also makes a similar pair of pedals for their SPD clips. Check their site.

I have SPD style pedals on my road bike and a company called Winwood makes a product called Decksters that takes an SPD cleat and snaps into the pedal converting them to platform pedals. What I have seen others do, after showing them my Decksters, is to take a a piece of 1x4 hardwood or plywood and cut it to the size of a pedal. Get some extra cleats for the pedal you have and screw it into the wood using some washers on the top side. You may have to make a recess in the wood so that the nut does not stick up above the wood. You can then cover the wood with some self-stick non-skid material like the type you put in your bathtub to keep from slipping. Then you just clip in the adapters and ride. Much easier than changing pedals.
