Crank arms different!
#1
I'm busy getting my bike ready to cycle across Spain in a few weeks - and now have to look after a friends bike too (one he's borrowed)!

The bike is a Trek 4400 and the Crank is: Shimano M341 42/32/22.

Just starting work on when i see that the left arm is completely different to the right and is rubbing against the chainstay!
I presume this is a different arm completely....

My question is what can I replace it with? Do i have to buy a full crank set and does it have to be the Shimano M341 - not sure I can get one of those locally..

Hi Toby,

Sounds like you do have the wrong left crank arm installed. It would be ideal to get the matching Shimano M341. Here's the Shimano PDF for that crank set.

That said, if you can find a similar left crank arm with the same length and frame clearance you could use it with no problems. I'm guessing your right crank is either a 170mm or 175mm (should say on the backside of the crank arm).
