$28 for a rear wheel, not so bad.

I don't know if it includes freewheel.
I called Pacific to buy a bearing for my bike, they offered to sell me whole wheel for 28+12 shipping.
It is probably cheap for a wheel, but still too much for one bearing race I need.

You may need to regrease the wheel bearings as soon as you get it.

I have purchased a few lower cost wheels, and found all to be lacking grease, and all have had their cones adjusted too tight.

In addition, all have needed their spokes tensioned, the wheel trued and stress relieved.

After that little bit of labor; all have proven to be fine.

I second especially Nigel's comment on the spokes: True the wheel and take especially care to get the spoke tension balanced. The most important part of a wheel is how well it is built. You can build a decent (well, at least reliable and that's what counts in everyday use) one with cheap components and you can screw up with top notch stuff, too.

Nigel, THAT IS ONE THING we both agree on when it comes to mass market bikes and part consisting of moving parts! First thing anyone should ever do when they buy a low end department store bike is lube everything and grease it!
