Road tires for MTB
#1
Hello guys,

I have a 13 year old Giant Boulder 500. It's equipped at the moment with a pair of Schwalbe tires (these). The size is 26" x 2.00. Can I get some slick tires for this? How do I choose 'em? What's the size of MTB tires for road? 26" x 1.00? Is there any criteria to consider road tires/off-road tires? Do I need to change the wheel?

Thanks in advance Smile

hutchinson top slick protectair are nice slicks if you still like to bang curbs or do hardpack trails
stick with 1.25 to 1.5 80lb. to 100lb psi roll nice
you do not need to change wheel however you might have to change tubes

47-559 would fit with no problems.

Watch your ISO ETRTO diameter, which is 559. Any replacement tires have to have the same diameter. Anything down to 35-559 should be okya.

The conti looks like a nice tire but I would not call it a slick
