I have two questions about my homemade recumbent;

1.) It has what looks like a scratches on the inside of the rear derailleur has. I believe that it is out of alignment. Without an alignment tool is there a way to check this?

2.) I think that the bike started out as a road bike and was then converted to the recumbent and a MTB tire was put on it. Will this cause the above problem with the derailleur?
Have fun and just enjoy the ride

1. you can make an alignment tool from a light true wheel; some bike wheels have the same threads as the derailleur mounting bracket.

2. I don't see how. I would replace the MTB tire with something more suitable for street use.

Hey fred, out of curiosity do you have any pictures of this bike? Just wondering love to see mods like that! Wink
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
