Freewheel
#1
Whilst coasting downhill today my freewheel suddenly started making a much louder, grinding tic tic tic sound. I stopped, spun the wheel a few times and checked for play, but couldn't find the problem. I carried on a bit further and the noise suddenly stopped and went back to the usual tic tic tic sound. The wheel, hub and freewheel are brand new and this is only the 3rd time I've been out on it. It was quite wet and muddy today so could this simply be dirt getting into the freewheel, or something else? Anyone had a similar problem?

Maybe dirt or mud between the hub and freewheel...
