That's what I was thinking. Whilst I can understand where he's coming from, I think it was a bit over the top.

"I can use this seat-clamp to get the tyre off, so I can use this wheel as a pulley!"

Numpty! you go and carry a climbing rope and carabina (sp?) but no tyre levers? Fail!

One of the thing that really annoys me about the media is how they make MTBing seem like "if you do it, prepare to DIE!" or "wow aren't these people brave/bonkers!" Come on! crashes on tarmac hurt more (usually)! Is it too much to ask for a bit of common sense?
