The min and max pressure should be on the side walls of each tire. It also depends on the type of bike the tire is on. Leisure bikes and mountain bikes will normally use half the pressure as a road bike. If the air pressure is between min and max, the amount of air you put in the tires also helps determine the ride. I usually keep my tires 5 to 10 psi lower than the max making the ride a little softer.

I ride a 20" folder on tires that will blow if filled over 50 psi. and slow me down when they reach 40, which is usually in a day or two. So i said to hell with all the pumping and found 2 BMX tires locally, Kenda Maxxi's that take 85 - 110 psi.

So what happens if i only inflate them to 60 or 70, which is far below the min. rating? Experience suggests they'll be hard enough at 50 psi., and even with a floor pump getting them to 95 is a heroic achievement.

BMX tires can get that high of pressure in them?! Wow!

As long as the tire is seated on the wheel and won't come off by pulling it or anything it should be fine.
