Harbor Freight $30 Repair Stand
#1
Harbor Freight is admittedly hit-or-miss, but this $30 bicycle repair stand caught my eye.

http://www.harborfreight.com/bicycle-repair-stand-with-tool-tray-98579.html

The user manual is available as a PDF through that link, but it isn't clear to me in reading it exactly how my bike is suppose to clamp to it and whether or not my wheels can spin while on the stand.

Anyone have any experience with it?

P.S. My first post! Great forum/site and happy to be here.

Yup, I have read about it on another forum. The guy who bought it put it this way, "for $30 I guess it is worth it." The fact is he had several things he didn't like after he put it together, but still thought it was worth it. I made the comment that as many bicycles as Chinese have, you would think they would have perfected the bicycle stand by now.

I was thinking, for $20 I'll just make my own that fits in my vise jaws, and so I did. Smile

Welcome,
Steve

If you click on the link, and look at the thumbnail pictures below the bigger picture, there is a picture of a bike attached to it. And, it looks like you can spin the wheels. It kind of looks like the one that Performance sells where you attach it to the bottom bracket and downtube.

For $30 it may not be a bad price for someone who just wants to do a little casual wrenching.

And, welcome Jengatron.
