Best bike chain?

I want to get a chain for this bike I'm putting together, but when it comes to brands and choosing what bike chain would be best, I'm kind of at a loss. I hate going into bike shops and taking some dude's word that I'm getting the best quality and charge me something like $80. What brands do you guys recommend and why?
The bike I'm putting together is a mtn bike with a Kuwahara frame, Suntour 7000 and 5000 derailers, I don't know what the cassette is, but it has 7 gears (I'm kind of scrapping from other bikes), standard 26" tires.

I put a Campagnolo 9sp Record on my bike last time I replaced it on the strength of the Wipperman tests. Not been on long enough to tell whether it will beat the 500 miles or so I got out of the SRAM it replaced.

I've used both SRAM and KMC chains. I've only had problems with lesser brands. So i'd stick to one of those two.
