Quick release rear wheels!
#1
there have been several posts re. this and all have had vg viewing figures, so it must be a popular subject?
Great care is needed when using QR's on the rear, apart from the obvious security problem of stolen wheels, there is also a safety question.
Unless you have vertical dropouts, the QR needs to be locked tight or you may pull the wheel forward under load and at the least, ruin your wheel by jamming it against the lh chain stay, or throw yourself off the bike into the path of traffic.
I did this once and have never used QR on the rear since, except as above with a vertical dropout.
