It's usual to refer to the left and right side of the bicyle as if you are sat on it. So the side the chain is on, is the right side.

Won't make any difference which fork it's on.
Will work either way.
Generally though the "standard" for the pickup is on the chainside of the bike so allows for fitting of different wheels if required.
Ride hard or ride home alone!

Hello am new to this forum so apologies if I have got into the wrong "thread" (Could find the "NewPost" button)
I have a Centurion crossline 500 with the following front fork: NCX-D RL LITE 700C, I want to know will the following fork:Kinesis Crosslight 3 Alloy Fork fit my bike? Alternatively can you tell me how I should measure to find what fork will fit. The sellers don't give full sizes and I got a reply from a salesman saying they don't sell any fork that fits my bike - I find that too hard to believe.
Any help at all greatly appreciated and apologies if I have enetered the worng post.
Many thanks

Is it one of these: http://www.bike24.com/p226637.html

If it is, these should fit: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15348

You might also consider some steel forks, a little heavier than the Crosslight forks, but still lighter than suspension forks, but steel has a bit of natural spring that might be a bit more comfortable than alloy forks: http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b183s29p2304

Thanks so much - I actually asked CR about these forks and received no reply, and was also told with reference to other forks that CR has nothing that will suit my bike ! Thanks so much.
