Broken Suntour Mountech rear Derailluer
#1
Hello, all I have a 210 Miyata that I bought today for $100. Not sure whether it was a good deal or not as I am new to bicycling. While I was bicycling today I was riding up a little hill and tried to shift the rear gear my rear derailleur broke. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could order a new one online, or if their are better replacement derailleurs for this bike since I have heard these suntour mountechs are self-destruct able. ::: As a side note I was wondering if anyone also knows where I can get 27 1 1/4 wheels to replace the current wheels. They are in alright shape but I can see possible problems in the near future. ::: Thanks again! PS: this is what the derailleur looks like/info http://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...284900%29.html

If the gears are non-indexing then any make of dérailleur should do.
As long as you have 8 rear gears or less then any current 8 speed dérailleur should work.
Depending on whether you have a double or triple chainset will determine if you require a short or long cage type?

(P.S. Your link to disraeligears wouldn't work for me.)
Ride hard or ride home alone!

You should be fine with any standard long cage derailleur. It looks like this is a long cage even though you only have two chainrings up front.

27" wheels are readily available from many places.
