You're welcome! Nice bike George. I wish all manufacturers would make their product catalogs available to us. I just finished downloading Schwinn's catalogs 1961 through 2001 and is about 509MB. Who knows how long that site will provide availability to the catalogs, but I think it is important enough to download them and keep for personal information and use. They are a valuable resource for refurbishing bikes or even just knowing more about a used bike before buying it. "Knowledge is power."

Ye it was very interesting going through them. I found that by Schwinn specs my MB bike weights on the low end of their road bikes.

The really light ones were Paramount.

Good idea about the download.

The who made it is confusing as according to Schwinn brochure its a USA made frame and the wheels are USA Winemann, yet the badge says Schwinn Quality.

Ser #E173037A on the bottom bracket.

I had this fantasy about getting a nice 25lbs road bike and putting MB bars with horns on it for city use. But for now just got a different set of tires since my bike weights like most road bikes.

That BTW is a former Silent and talk Movie Stars Marion Davis Estate site with a new public pool. Girlfriend of William Randolph Hurst.

Yup, Schwinn gets confusing after the eighties, (as if they weren't confusing in the 80s). I think in the 90's I saw a catalog actually says "Schwinn Re-established 199X" indicating that might have been one of their bankruptcy years before finally closing doors and then sale to Pacific. There doesn't appear to be a good deal of consistency in Schwinn's (USA) twilight years.

The attachment is from the 1991 catalog. I wonder if someone could make good on their warranty now. Smile And then think about General Motors . . .

I know when I called for pressed bearing problem in the rear axle of my meridian the lady said it had a lifetime warranty for parts if I recall. But it is a 2009 model soo?
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

Yes 10-4 to bump . I am including the Schwinn links I have.

Including this early 1972 Made In Taiwan. Did not know outsourcing started this early.

RE: Schwinn chrome bike
BTW , I was just looking at LA Craigs list and came across this Bike

losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/bik/2157236644.html

Its a 1972 made in Taiwan Schwinn. Interesting sure started early.

Very sneaky poster above ("BrooksKennedy"). Not only did they join, then quit, but also sneaked in a couple of links in the reply quote. Please be careful not to click the links in case there are viruses or spy cookies until I contact Alex to see if he can remove that post from this thread. *POOF* already gone!

We probably don't see a fraction of what Alex has to put up with. Sad
