Shimano RevoShift upgrade
#1
Hello. I bought a 2003 Raleigh SC40 recently. It is in very good shape but does show its age in areas. One is the 3x8 Shimano RevoShift twist shifters. They work just fine but are cosmetically challenged. The right rear shifter plastic cover has broken. I am inclined to replace both with new Shimano twist shifters. Hoping for suggestions, recommendations and cautions. Thanks for the help.

I don't think there's much to it. Just make sure you match the same number of gears.

For example, 8x3 (8 Speed :: Triple)

There's nothing else you really need to be worried about.

I remember the triple ring on my old Giant NRS 1 Amazing were using 1Xs on the road now. Not sure about MTB.
