Sram Transmission derailleur possibly dead?

I have a bike in with an unresponsive transmission derailleur. Customer said it was hit with a stick that went into the spokes.

There's no obvious damage other than wear and tear scuff marks. The battery is good and tested with the dropper. The shifter is good and working.

The button on the derailleur does nothing. Single click, double clicking and holding the button. no response, no servo buzz, no light.

I've followed the sram reset guides and still no joy.

Any tips?

Interesting problem, usually a reset does the trick, have you had any luck with it now? Did you contact customer support about it? What solution did they come up with? I’m super curio To see what the actual cause of the problem was and how they fix it haha thanks for sharing this

I wish I knew more about Sram. I liked Sram Red on my last bike. I just expect everything to work! Is that why many shops only work on Shimano.

You might be able to check the connections and see something in the middle wrong, or apparently the mech has gone into a "crash mode".

I had a Sram Eagle GX transmission derailleur die on me. No light blinking at all even after putting in fully charged battery. Contacted Sram, they said it might be battery contacts. Sure enough, one of the contacts was lower than the other. It was difficult to see at first look but when running finger over the two contacts, I could definitely feel that one was lower than the other. This is apparently a known issue on the GX and the only thing to do is send back to Sram for possible warranty.
