Need some advice on running shoes
#1
Hi guys! Question for cyclists who also run. My wife wears these On Cloudflow and says they're light and soft. I'm thinking of getting a pair for myself. Maybe also On? Do you have any favourite brands for easy runs and warmups?

I've done heaps of triathlons, 5k, 10k, and half marathons in my Asics Cumulus. Perfect for me. Asics is a brand I've worn for around 15 years.

You need to have your foot type checked.
Do you pronate, supinate, or have a natural foot type?
This is vital information to prevent long-term injuries.

On Clouds are pretty awesome, they provide really good support especially for long distance runs, but for buying advice I suggest going for any daily trainer that would let you have enough support cushion you for miles but at the same time be responsive enough for speed sessions these would be my suggestions

Hoka Clifton 10
Hoka Mach 6
Adidas Evo SL
On Cloudmonster
Brooks Adrenaline GTS (for more support)

I hope these would help!

@JJMarsh, what kind of riding and running are you into? Are we talking trail or road?

I’m a big fan of Salomon Speedcross series and Adidas Terrex, but my all-time favorite—and they're discontinued—were the Salomon S/Lab Amphib XA. I picked up a used pair in New Hampshire and fell in love. They have minimal cushioning and fabric since they’re designed for SwimRun events, but they’re perfect if you sweat a lot. They were great for both cycling and running.

I actually did my Nepal bikepacking trip in those after running a couple of Himalayan trail ultras in them. They’re incredibly light and dry instantly.

Since I couldn't find a replacement pair, I recently bought the Lowa Fusion Lo. They look similar to the S/Lab Amphibs, but I’m still breaking them in and haven’t tested them extensively yet.

I usually scout Sierra Trading Post for deals on trail and hiking gear. ( This is US specific though)

Of course, all this talk might be moot if you’re into road cycling and road running!
