Well George, an $11 set of pedals would probably be junk and rough spinning. Pedals are a key drivetrain component that people take for granted or just do not realize how smooth or not the bike feels just by having low grade pedals. Look at this link. They are the best platform for the money and are as smooth as butter. you can choose to remove the pins all together or replace with much shorter ones to give some extra grip. you can find them in a multitude of colors also.

shoes with crepe soles will not help George, Elmore. he wants smoother pedals because sometimes he uses his leg to pedal with and gets scratched up.

I thought I was clear in my original post as to why I was looking for different pedals. Did you read it , Elmore?
Its the sudden get offs that get ya. Like stopping before going in a ditch. Putting feet down and hitting the pedal teeth with the calf or vs..both ways hurt :-)

Gotta love it George, I think as we get older our skin gets thinner and pain threshold gets lower and the heal time longer! ha. I am my own worst enemy, why change now!

ANND BTW guys I have relocated SE of Houston, so now I also have mosquito's to worry about and thin skin.
Something that was not a problem in California. I was amazed on my first camping trip at Big Sur, no bugs to eat you. None in Venice either...............Back to being food chain now. :-(

I hear that, you can't get more Texas than that! Hope the move went well and you are doing alright. The cost of living in Cali would kill me, but not a bad spot to live on a park bench I suppose!
