would like to see some pics of the canti's, the shifters, derailleurs and the stumpjumper emblem.
the 80's stumpy's were lugged frame I think the first yr was 81 and it was welded

well without the actual model #s of the components and better pics of the rear derailuer. By looking at the construction of the cable bosses and no lugs on the frame, It would be a 1981. sorry no more help so far. try to find the #s on the crank and rear derailluer if you can. it looks like very Ritchey like angles and style but hard to tell from the pics.

f I remember correctly, serial #s for specialized do not date the bike, your best bet is to research the frame aspects and components and to try and find archived info, try digging around on the bike forums site too
