Floor Pump care?

Hello,
I recently picked up a Bontrager Charger floor pump and have enjoyed using this pump to properly inflate my Presta valve tires/tubes. I also have a Schwinn floor pump that I use for most of my schrader tires/tubes.
My question is:
What do you guys use to lubricate the seal(s) and keep them working for a long time while keeping the tube(s) from rusting on the inside?? Grease??... Oil??.......

most pumps are good for life - definitely do not put oil or regular grease in them.

Old pumps either had a hole marked oil or unscrewed & you greased the felt seals. I think Nigel is right, new pumps with synthetic seals, I would check with the manufacturer first for sure. You might be safe with a little airgun (pellet rifles etc...) piston oil.

Spit on your fingers and rub it over the valve stem before attaching the pump head. DO NOT use any type of petrolium product.

I remember those old floor pumps, with the hole for oil and the felt seals that you greased, when I was a kid. I'm glad things have changed and I don't have to worry about that anymore...
Do have some airgun oil... just in case.

I've had my Topeak Joeblow track pump for over 3 years now and still going strong with no maintenance.

I figure if you actually have airgun oil you must have some nice stuff. I've had Crossman, RWS and a couple of Beeman pistols, P1 & Hurricane. Quality airguns are almost as fun as bikes.
