New Trueing Stand
#1
My old stand: http://forums.bikeride.com/thread-3155.html

After getting some experience with my first home built stand, I decided the I needed some improvements:
  1. Be able to handle ISO630 wheels with 32mm tires mounted
  2. Be able to handle ISO622 wheels with 40mm tires mounted
  3. Improved rigidity
I found some 80/20 pieces on ebay:
http://stores.ebay.com/8020-Inc-Garage-Sale?_trksid=p4340.l2563
and ordered some pieces to make this:

Tomorrow, I will be attaching it to my work bench, and will take some pictures with a wheel mounted.

Simply brilliant!!! Love how it can be easily adjusted but yet still has alot of strength after it is secured Big Grin . Loads of applications for this stuff guess you're the first to apply it to a wheel idea!

Edit: Wanted to add that I think there are rather inexpensive twist fasteners you can use on the parts that you move frequently. Do not remember the name of them, they have black plastic handles.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!

tino - About $70 for the materials - all eBay 80/20 stuff, except the aluminum angle at the top, the washers, the 5/16-18 screws, the dial indicator and the ruler with 0 at the center which I had.  It is re-useable for other projects too.

Bill - the screws take a #3 Phillips bit, and it is very quick with a screw driver, ½ turn it slides without too much wobble, ½ turn and it won't budge.

Here are some more pictures:
