Brake levers and TT basebars
#1
I ride a TT bike and I am changing out my stock basebar with a PD Ozero and as I consider myself handy decided to try to do it myself. From those with experience, is it as simple as removing the old brake levers, pulling the brake cable out of the old housing, threading the cable into the new housing, and reconnecting to the brake levers? I am hoping that I can reuse the current housing and cable as they are not old. I was unsure if it was akin to swapping shifters where I have to pull the cable all the way out of the housing and rethread from the front back. Sounds like it could be a free10 minute job or a two hour job where I have to go get some material first

Thanks

If you can thread the cable into the lever, should be okay.

If not, the worst you are looking at is new cables - just the inner metal, not the cable housing.

I'd get the cables before you start the job, just in case. The are very inexpensive.

Thanks for the response. Are any special tools needed? I haven't done any cable work yet, but it doesn't look too hard.

And don't forget a good cutter for cables (and housing, if you need to replace / shorten that too)
