I just bought a scrap bike for parts...can I reuse the headset on a different frame?

I haven't gotten that far in my new build yet, so this is a general question if it's a good idea, or if the the act of removing it from the frame destroys it or something

If it's in good condition and you remove it carefully (and it's the right size) no reason you can't re-use it.
