Nice work! I will definitely add Brasso to my tool inventory even if to use for brake calipers, handlebars, or whatever.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi mate thanks a lot but i don't use brasso anymore i use something similar called silvo. it polishes up the same as brasso but i found with half the rubbing and polishing. also it comes in a cotton wadding instead of as a liquid like brasso so can be used in a much neater way.

I found this kids bike (14 inch wheels, single speed) abandoned by the road side one night. It was clearly in need of some love, care and attention. on closer inspection I realised the frame was aluminium and it had v-brakes, quick release seat post, 160mm alloy cranks with 9/16 pedals and square tapered bottom bracket. It is exremely light in weight and feels just like an adult bike. I had never ever seen this set-up on a kids' bike before, as all the ones I have seen normally come in the BMX style with all steel, one peice bottom bracket and cranks and very heavy.

Thanks, but Silvo is impossible to find anywhere. Sad

I searched all over and my closest distributor is nearly 170 miles away, with no idea where a retailer is located. I finally found their company website under the name "Reckitt & Benckiser" and it is a Canadian company. It also makes Brasso as well. Even Amazon has Brasso, but not Silvo though. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Giant Box Shock frame. Never seen one with a hard tail before. The boxed alloy frame will make the ultimate bling project so watch this space. I replaced the front suspension with a Maxlight Kinesis alloy fork. I couldn't find any info on this except Box Shock 1 and 2 which come with full suspension.

Nice, I like the frame design. I also saw a yeti frame that really caught me attention.

silvo is just the ' for silver ' version of brasso ( which is ov for brass ) ... both made by the same company .... maybe look for a silver polish ( with the wad/pad under a different brand

couple of projects -
1 - alloy frame is my recently acquired old skool Marin Indian Fire Trail
2 - gun metal grey one is the Litech Magnesium frame weighing in at a featherweight 1.3kg
I am going to build this and see if i could have it completed with a target weight of between 7 and 9 lbs.
I already have an integrated carbon fibre handlebar and stem and the Wing TT carbon seatpost with Titanium hollow railed saddle.
I really cant with to get polishing on the Mrain though especially the CNC sear stay section.

i agree. i find carbon components a bit boring (no offense to anyone) because i am only accustomed to polished ally. also the magnesium frame must remain painted because it rusts easily if exposed so blinging this one is completely out.

Your surely going to have a lot shiny bikes? :p

I was thinking would using a coat of clear coat on the magnesium cramp the style?? Would preserve the blinging.
