Started commuter riding when I lived on Cape Cod and I realized I lived about 1/8 mile from an entrance to the Cape Cod Rail trail, and my work place couldn't be closer to the trail. Moved to Florida to take care of the folks and found the East Central Regional Rail Trail in unconnected sections but by the time I left it was pretty much complete. Now I'm in Lebanon Connecticut USA a 10 minute bike ride or so (depending on which way you're going and which trailhead you want to enter) from the Airline Trail.
