Hello @SPINMAN, wishing you the best with training and for these rides. What's the usual mileage you compete in?

Hi, usually the gran Fondos have several ride categories and distances. They could be anywhere from 30 miles flat road to 100 mile challenging hilly/mountain terrain. I usually go in the middle. Between 50-75 miles, that way I'm also back for the festivities and not too tired! 😂☕🍺🍷🌞🎂

Here's an example from a recent gran fondo in Florida with three ride categories. They are fun and great social interactions.

Redneck peckerwood that I am, I thought "Gran Fondo" meant "Your grandmother wears Army boots!" Wink

There's a Gran Fondo in the 'Tour of the Gila'---it looks pretty gnarly, here's the page from the 'Spectator Guide!' Confused

For some reason, it has a different title on this page, but it's still the Gran Fondo... I think, lol. Angel

Longest stage is something like 103 miles! And grueling too, lol... here's another pic! Big Grin

I can just see myself pedaling my SE Racing 'Rip Style' Beach Cruiser up that grade, lol... single gear, coaster brake! Rolleyes
