Chain Breaker recommendations
#1
I bought a CHEAP set of bike tools which included a chain breaker. It is worthless. Short of the $49 Park Tool version can anyone recommend one worth the price and effort?
Trek 720 Multitrack hybrid
Trek 3700 MTB
Assorted project and parts bikes.

Have not tried it, I recommend the parktool, but this is a low price it seems from a good seller

I was actually at Walmart the other day and saw they have a new model by White Lightning which is a deluxe styled chain tool. This might be exactly what you're looking for and is just a short visit away possibly.

not that it really matters to me reap, but the ratings on the wally world breaker are pretty bad, almost 30% 1 star rating of the same complaint. thats pretty bad considering I have only worn out 1 Parktool chain tool in 40yrs. to keep using the wally tool for 40yrs probably would have cost me hundreds of dollars if it broke every other time I used it. Lol

I think you clicked into a different listing.

White Lightning Pro Quality Chain Tool has only one 1 star review and over two hundred 5 star reviews.

I seen it in person and I can confirm that it's a large tool that gives the user a lot of leverage.

I'm a fan of Park Tools generally, but I've seen more than one pro mechanic criticise the Park Tools chain breakers.

If you've won the lottery, Abbey.

Otherwise, I would look at Pedros, Icetoolz, Unior, possibly Topeak and Lezyne.

If you run 12sp chains, I think you have to be much more careful with your choice of chain breaker, and obviously, Campagnolo takes the tool-selection complexity up another notch.
