I've moved from 26" to 29" wheels. Pros & Cons so far
#1
So after 10+ years I've moved from my Giant Reign 26" wheels dual suspension to my new Giant Talon 29" wheels hardtail.

I only ride on off-road tracks.

I've wiped out twice...trees are solid!

My group is now calling me "The Tree Hugger"! 😅

Other than stacking it, after a few rides these are some Pros and Cons:

PROS:

* Hills: Uphills are now sooo much easier!
* You ride further with the same pedal rotation
* Feels smoother on single tracks (except tight corners)...to be honest, I'm not sure why
* More clearance going over logs/rocks on the track
* Definitely feels so much quicker with less effort

CONS:

* Not 'agile' on tight turns, switch backs...the reason why I smashed into a tree...twice Smile
* Feels like it takes me a bit longer to get up to speed

So, think it will take some riding to get used to the maneuverability but 100% feel I've made the right move!

Glad you're enjoying the benefits of the 29er. Ride on, Tree Hugger! Wink
