Scram Force Front Derailleur
#1
Hello,

Would anyone please be able to recommend a front derailleur to replace my Scram Force. I was told that it is a poor design and it does not drop the chain to the lower chainring. is there a compatible Scram Yaw derailleur that I could use? My gearing is 2x10.

Many thanks!

Not certain if that is proprietary pull ratio for Sram, but it says this series is equal to Shimano Ultegra.

If the pull ratio for this Sram series is proprietary, you won't be able to use anything else without changing the shifter also.

Sram Force AXS looks to be the best and most promising upgrade, if you have a non-AXS version.

The pull on the SRAM and Shimano are nearly the same. The Shimano 7800 and 7900 (10 x 2) are slightly different but I can't remember which one is compatible with the SRAM

My memory is that the YAW is an 11 speed derailleur and that is probably your problem. Red and Rival were made in 10 speed.

I might also say that the Rival front derailleur works fine and if it isn't dropping down to the lower chainring it is likely that it is improperly adjusted. I suspect that you don't have the skill to properly adjust the front derailleur and suggest you take it to a competent mechanic. This sort of adjustment is fast and cheap. But it is easy to get it incorrect.
