If you catch a good promo from SIS it comes to $1.00 per gel for the ones with caffeine! So 2 per ride for 45-60 miles with electrolyte filled bottles and started with 16oz French pressed coffee! Good for me, anyway.

What is this 1 USD SIS Gel sorcery and can you share the link? I need this in my life hahahaha

Hey Antonio, check this out. Ends tomorrow! If you have an account, they are adding $20 to spend on $60. I'm on to AMACX energy fruit chews and liquid gels as well as my favorite SIS gels. Look at the sale drop down menu. They have 50% off some close to expiration that they can't sell them after that. Some expire in July and August. They are still good past expiration. I'm good for a few months now. With the extra $20, they are all under $1.50 each instead of almost $4

After reading through some very informative posts here, it seems you have to find what works for you. Which makes sense as we are all built differently.

My only suggestion is to give what you're trying a real go because your mind-body connection can vary from activity to activity, so a longer trial period will give you a better indicator of what works for you

Speaking of cycling nutrition, I found these Stroopwafel thingies at Wally World. The bigger stores, no luck at a smaller location.

But they are 8 wafels for about $5. A couple more carbs than the cycling version (Honey stingers) and a few more little grams of sugar. I don't worry about the little extra sugar knowing I burn it while riding.

But the HS are almost $10 for 6 wafels. Heck, I don't mind getting a good deal on stuff.

America has really good access to food perfect for what we do, $5 for 8 of those? I’d happily munch on the whole box for a 300km ride hahaha how is America doing this?
