Great idea but Polymorph & Instamorph are very expensive. It also might not hold up to abuse.

Yup, I also guess that the force you need to press in a bearing is likely too high for this plastic stuff. Plus when it starts to give a one side the bearing is no longer centred. If it has been molded to exactly fit the bearing the large surface might redistribute the force well, so this might not be an issue. Keep us posted with the results!
