I have had the same tires for 4 years on my TREK Fuel 70. I think I am over due for some fresh rubber. Anyone have any recommendations on tires they've used.
I typically ride XC style riding 3 times a week with some serious technical riding twice a month.
San Felasco 3 times a week. (Gainesville FL)
Santos MTB Park twice a month. (Ocala, FL)
There are only a couple reasons I change my tires that is if the tread is getting worn off, weather cracking (cracking in the tire from the rubber getting old etc), or the worse blow out. With all the models of MTB tires out there, I guess it would be location, expense, and durability. I have had pretty good luck with Kenda's MTB Tires so far. But to each their own.
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
For off road, good tires do make a difference. But what tires work well can vary a lot based on the local soil/trail types and conditions. I'd ask around in local shops with guys familiar with the trails you ride.
Good advice. I've been seeing alot of guys with "Small block 8's" at the trails near me, I'll ask around tomorrow.
