Sole' Goose Island Single speed Fixie
#1
In all the years I have been into bicycles I have never ridden a fixed gear bicycle. Then I saw this bicycle listed locally and had to buy it just to try it out. I know its not the highest end bike but for the price of $120 and being new, I knew I could get a taste of the fixie feel and get my money back. It is a Goose Island brewery promo Bike Made by Sole'. The first thing I upgraded was the pedals to Shimano dual platform SPD PD-M324. Now looking for a nice day to check it out. here some picks. It does have that hipster look.

I just had a Goose Island IPA today; very good beer, but I wouldn't get on a fixie after one! I have only ridden a track bike (not on the roadways) so I am not a big fan of a fixie for standard use. I rebuilt a State Bicycle Co. fixie that I gave away as a gift, and while test riding (about 100yds), I about wiped out since I was not at all used to dealing with a quick stop and having the front brake with no maneuvering space while on a tight corner. No issue on a track with plenty of space and no obstacles. I do a rear wheel lift and pedal freeze to stop quick (on track), but I did not feel comfortable with this bike. I was happy to gift it to someone who wasn't used to any road cycling and apparently felt right at home on it.

How much were the Shimano pedals? I have yet to use any like that style; just the dual clip-ins.
