Here is an ad desciption for an aluminum road frame (asking $200):
"Complete frame preserved in very good condition. A few scratches and a hairline (crack) under bottom bracket shell ; no bent tubes, otherwise in a very good preserved state. No dents or structural damage."

If I had this frame it would have been recycled weeks ago and I would never sell it except for parts (the fork) or wall/yard art after easily seeing that "hair line" crack.
I felt obligated to send the seller a message informing them that the crack has progressed past a hairline condition and it certainly qualifies as structural damage. Unless I'm over-paranoid about safety I would think that the bike could easily fall apart especially on an aluminum frame and/or if a heavy rider gave it a spin.

Correct me if I'm wrong! I also don't think it would be worth repairing compared to the value of the bike.

Nothing a little cold weld compound can't fix, right?

The seller replied to my comment and relisted the frame as a damaged! Apparently the individual was not familiar with what that type or level of damage meant with regards to using the frame without an expensive repair if properly performed.
