MonkeyLectric Monkey Lights...
#1
I ride quite a bit at night now that it's winter and dark so early. My bike's got a Trek Flare 7 tail light, a Cygolite Milion 200 headlamp, and lots of reflective tape, so I'm pretty visible front and back. But from the sides, not so much.

I came across the MonkeyLectric Monkey Light (M133S), a POV wheel light, a few weeks ago and it would seem to solve my problem.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I was going to mount it on my rear wheel (700c). My biggest concern is that, with batteries, the Monkey Light weighs @ 165 grams. How much do you think this will effect the balance of the wheel? Or should I consider a counter-weight 180 degrees from the light?

Thanks

I haven't tried them but have seen them, pretty cool idea. I've heard some people use lead split shot fishing weights to counterbalance the weight, but I don't know if it's really necessary or not.

Thanks. I was thinking along the same lines, if it's necessary. Maybe embedding them on the top edge of the wheel reflector with some Gorilla Glue.

Wonderful site, by the way.
