So far I've heard a lot about Schwalbe Big Apples which I'm planning to buy in 2.35 size if none better option will surface.
Primary usecase would be riding on roads full of cobblestones and roadholes.

Schwalbe is quality stuff and I can only support your Big Apple choice (would be mine too). I suggest its Performance line tire, that BigApple is faster and more durable.
