Can someone identify this type of bottom bracket and a reference to what tools that I will need to remove it?

Probably a SHUN SHING component. You can use a regular "hook" spanner to remove the locknut on the left side (more than likely reverse/lefthand threads); I do not know what wrench size is required for the right/fixed cup side.
