Is this bike fake?
#1
I'm new to biking, but I wanted to buy a bike.

I found this trek bike that seems to be an emonda sl 6 or 7 (correct me if I'm wrong), but the ad only says that it's a emonda sl.

Please let me know whether or not this bike is fake, if the bike is a good buy, and any tips when buying a bike.

it looks real, and it looks barely used, very well cleaned. I always hesitate to buy used carbon, just because you don't know what its been through, so at the very least I would go check out the bike in person and test ride it. stuff to look out for on carbon is creaking and anything that looks like it could be cracked, whether its cosmetic or the frame you just want to be sure. But I would never buy a used carbon bike online without seeing it first, unless its a super nice deal or something. That's just me though, so...

The bike is far from where I live, and I was planning to buy the bike online. Since I'm new to bikes I have relied on bicyclebluebook for value, and it seems like its 50-60% for a 2 year old bike. Is this a good deal?

Hello. It sure looks like a real ad to me. @ChaseCal already made some good points regarding used carbon frames. Here is quite an independent look on Emonda SL frameset: https://advntr.cc/trek-emonda-sl-frameset/

The price is a tad high, but it does look to be in very good condition. looks like a decent deal, yeah.

Beauty! That's the exact bike I test rode when shopping for mine. Almost went with that color, too. You'll love it!

It looks pretty good and the price is decent. I personally will never buy a used bike unless I can meet the person and check it out before I buy it.
