Thanks for the article! I learned some new facts and information about bike lane situation in Paris, unfortunately it's one of the rare European capitals that I haven't personally visited (and biked). The bike lane map indeed looks like a mess, and the sentence about isolation and lack of connection is spot on. That's something that the city or traffic planners do not understand (in its root) within many countries, I believe. For example, they might have created one long bike lane that is either next to the main street or passes by places of interest, or have created lets say three solid yet isolated bike lanes. For daily commuters it means nothing - other sections on the way to the office or uni are still awful to bike ...

Will add here the Copenhagenize index link as it's mentioned in your article. I have biked in each of the TOP3 cities, which has definitely spoiled me Big Grin

Speaking about biking in France and Paris ... there is an interactive online map where locals have pointed out dangerous spots for cyclists or the black points (points noirs), plus sections for bike infrastructure improvements. Almost 200'000 have added their vote (each individual can add three black points + three areas for infrastructure improvements). Results here: https://carto.parlons-velo.fr/

Something that every big city should have?
Have to say that this map was created with upcoming elections in mind.

love the map! Random dots all over the place but overall it draws everyones attention to the most critical areas with the most points. You can't fix it all, but ya start from the big tumors.. I wonder how it would turn out for NYC
