Mad a mistake...

I have purchased a Voodoo Marasa off eBay thinking that it was a pretty good price at £170. However, I have just realised that it is the 2016 version! Is this worth my money? Seems to be slightly lighter than the 2018 version, which is good, but other than that the gear switcher etc. may be slightly less good compared to the 2018 marasa.

Hey, I personally think that you still got a decent deal
There's not much separating both bicycles except for the season and some super slight 2-year improvements. Typically bike shops might lower the price for old season bikes in order to get rid of them and make space for the new ones. Doesn't mean that those bikes offer less quality and performance.

Both of them have Shimano Altus groupset, 2016' is even lighter, which is great in my opinion. There's not much info about 2018' hubs.

Tektro M290 disc brake set from the 2016' model is already worth >60£ on its own ...
Although the 2016' has Altus M730 derailleurs in the specs ... I don't recall such model, it must be typo and M370 instead.
