Bearing replacement Mavic TS2 Freehub
#1
Morning All,

One of my bearings collapsed in the free hub so I decided to see if I could fix it. After cleaning all the gunk out I was able to see the circlip on the threaded side of the hub.

I then removed circlip thinking it should be just a case of knocking the old ones out and replacing however there doesn't appear to be anyway to knock these little buggers out.

Here is a pic of the other side

Hopefully you can see that the design of the hub doesn't appear to let you take them out. Is there a special tool or something you need to unscrew the paw side from the threaded side?

Has anyone managed to extract the bearings form Mavic TS2 free hub or have they performed some kind of wizardry to get them in?

Cheers!

Thx Painkiller!

Here is what i ended up doing:

1. Removed Internal circlip
2. Sat the free hub thread side down
3. Warmed it up a little with a heat gun
4. Gently knocked the collapsed bearing out using a suitable sized socket wrench extender and mallet
5. Removed the spacer
6. Repeat step 4

I'm just waiting for the replacement bearings so i can put it back together again. It beats paying £32 for a new free hub Wink

I hope it works out for ya. One thing about Mavic, they did rewrite the book on alot of stuff and often have their own service tools
