Hey guys,
Picked up some strong mtb(36h,dw) disc and rim brake compatible wheels for a great price. Was looking to convert my mtb from v-brake to disc(frame and fork have the mounts for disc brakes).
Been looking at some mechanical knockoff Avid BB5, BB7 disc brake kits that come with what is in the pic.
Anyone know anything about these? Will they work?
From what I can tell, they are just like the brand name stuff, just don't have the brand name branded on them.
Have not had any experience with disc brakes and I'm looking to try some out. If there is a better brand that you recommend, please explain?
Thanks

I am not a big fan of disc brakes from an ownership perspective. though they do have some pros, and cons. but mostly I do not care much for the generation of bicycles that come with the era of disc brakes. I do prefer Hydraulic over Mechanical in any event. Like most anything you get what you pay for, Name brand may be better when it comes to repair parts if needed. But be sure and let us about your experience with them once you get up and rolling.

Ok- Thanks ...
Found a set of BR-M375 mechanical brakes with the choice of G3, HS1 or RT56 disc 160mm(see pics) ...
Can you tell me what the differences are in the disc??
Also, is this a good set of mechanical disc brakes??
