Broken crank arm

Hi, the thread on my crank arm has worn completely away, I have a budget road bike 14 speed but can not find a crank set online can any one help or come up with any alternatives. .. thanks, uk

There are tons of crank sets that would work on this, but we would need more info to give you a specific recommendation. Pics of the current crank would help or at least more details of the make/model. Is the just the left side, right side, both?

Just FYI, your bike will usually be referred to as being a "7 speed" bike with a double crankset in the front. You can mount a large number of cranks on a bike like this, you don't need some exact part. But there's a few considerations: how it mounts to the bottom bracket (probably "square taper" but you should check), your crank arm length (marked on the inside of the arms), and what length bottom bracket you have now (some cranks call for different length BB's and you might then have to get a new BB bearing assembly as well.

Cheers. I have all the gear but no idea, I cant find the specs or any brand name on the crank set

I take it you only need the left crank arm replaced? If so, look on the inside of the arm. There should be a number like 170 or 175. That's the length. You can get just a matching length left crank arm only. It may not be a perfect visual match, but it will work fine and not be expensive. Online or most local shops should have these on hand.

Cheers... thats what I've decided to do... save up in the mean time for a good new chain set.. 42/52 double... thanks for the help
