Chain skip

My old bike ('93 Cannondale road bike) which I still like and use for indoor training, riding in icky weather, etc. is broken and I can't fix it. The chain skips under load and I have replaced the cassette, chain, and entire crankset with new stuff. Same skip. That leaves the rear hub (Hugi circa '97) or the rear derailleur (105 original equipment). What should I do?

If you've replaced all of those things then it has to be the <a href="http://bikeride.com/freehub-body/">freehub body</a>. Try <a href="http://bikeride.com/replace-cassette-cluster/">removing the cassette</a> and turning the freehub back and forth to see if it misses a tooth or is gritty.
