Hello Everyone I just joined up today,
Problem is today while riding in a good snow storm today , but do not think it is related to the snow. My bike just stopped taking on power from pedaling.
And when I turn the pedal in reverse it does not freely move , it also is moving the tires ever so slightly but is not free like it should be.
Thanks for any advice.
Oscar
Yea, I am betting on frozen lube? Has happened to me in the passed. You have the bike in warmth?
It also could be more mechanical related as well. Can you give more info on your bike and set up as in specifications?
Thanks Bill
Good maintenance to your Bike, can make it like the wheels are, true and smooth!
Welcome Oscar,
Could use some more info from you about your bike and drive train. Do you store in a heated area? Derailleur or internal gearing? Could be just a moisture and/or temp change that is causing the problem. Might be more serious. You could try to bring it in to a warm area for awhile first, and see if the problem is still there.

The bike is outside locked up now as I took a bus home after this happened.
I will get it later tonight and put in garage and let her warm up a bit and check it out,
What do ya all mean by frozen lube.
Your freehub or internal gearing has grease or oil in it. It could be so thick from the cold that it is not letting the ratchet release or engage.
I've had this prob with a three speed internal hub in the past, but not with a freehub.

Thanks everyone,
I will know more tomorrow and see what is going on with it.
