Chainring question
#1
Hi
I have a Shimano FC-650 crankset and am having a hard time finding a 44 or43 tooth outer ring......is this what they call a 130mm? and if so will all 5 arm (hole) 130mm rings fit? type A

This is a trek bike that I am building up for expedition touring and I have all ready gotten all new rings for the inside as well as a new BB the 46 ring on it now is to tall for a heavily loaded bike to be of much use.

One more thing... will all Hyper glides cassettes fit all HG hubs I mean other then a 7 speed is for a 7 speed... are the numbers after HG- referring to the gearing of the cassette?
Thank you for your time

130MM refers to the bolt hole spacing on the ring. Not sure if all 5 hole rings will fit.

Thanks for that, any help with the HG casttes? I'm looking to get lower gears and don't want to buy some thing that will not work.. I have found one that will do as far as the gearing and it has the same amont of gears and is also a HG I have now so will they swap out?

they should fit your hub ok, but spec your rear derailleur to make sure it can handle the the tooth spread

I have also gotten the 44t ring I was looking for BTW it's 110 not 130mm But alls well that ends well.
