I have a vintage 1983 GT All Terra Karakoram with original killer paint job. I cracked the back tube just in front of the rear derailure on one side and bent the other back tube. Can this be repaired?
I realize the weld would have to be exact for the rear derailure to shift correctly. I have been through a lot with this bike and it breaks my heart to have this damage. I was thinking of consulting a welder too.
Thanks!
Gil
lets see some pics of the bike please

This should only be repaired by an experienced bicycle frame builder. You may be able to hook with one here:

Personally, I would look for a replacement frame.

I thought you might be off a bit on the 83" year. when you said killer paint job I knew you would like it. I am a big fan of high end rigid and always will be. Its these bikes that I search for every day and re-furb. I wish bike companys would still put out bikes like these without disc brakes and cheap a.. forks
why not make a 8 or 9 speed bomb proof top mount thumb shifter? any way give me a ring Gil
