Transforming 21 to 24 Speed
#1
Hi Folks,
Looking for a bike nerd who can tell me whether or not I'm going to need to re-dish the rear wheel of my MTB wheel after I switched from a 7 to an 8 speed cassette? I'm all done installing the new free hub body, cassette and axle, but I'm finding it tough to adjust the brakes perfectly and noticed the wheel sits slightly off center now. Any tips, advice? Would prefer not to re-dish, because I had the wheel built not long ago (sadly, with the 7 speed cassette).
[MORE INFO: on the non-drive side, the brake pad, which is fairly worn, just can't seem to adjust to the correct angle so that it won't drag on the tire when the brake is released and now sits right up against the brake arm with no room to play]
Thanks in advanced for any help/discussion.
Cheers!

Well, Sheldon Brown comes through again (gotta love him...RIP). Looks like I'll need to re-dish anyhow. Here's the link, if you're interested:
